Hinman Ashley Bigelow, aka "Ted".
Former student of Mercersburg Academy in Mercersburg, PA.

In this journal you will find letters written by Ted, and his school, to his mother Anna in 1918 and 1919 during Ted's junior year of high school.

Hinman, or as he calls himself in one of his insane letters to his mother, "Crazy Ted Bigelow", at age 19 was in constant trouble. Failing classes and collecting demerits for everything from being late to class to making threats. He wrote letters to his mother, Anna, demanding money and basically being the worst son imaginable.

I've set up this journal to share these interesting letters, report cards, guard sheets, etc.

If you've stumbled across this journal and you have information on this lovely man, I'm dying to know more about him! The person I received the letters from speculated that he may have gone on to murder a young woman, because his high school letters (as well as letters that he wrote while in the army, which I also have) were found along with a file on a young woman that was murdered (I do not have this file, unfortunately).
